Bilateral Cultural Co-operation

Bilateral cultural co-operation projects promote exchanges and co-operation in the area of cultural awareness and intercultural dialogue with European and non-European countries.

They may be based on intergovernmental agreements (such as cultural agreements or memoranda of understanding) or on direct contacts. Against the backdrop of increasing globalisation, targeted bilateral co-operation supplements multilateral co-operation and thus supports synergy effects and mutual benefits.

Negotiating cultural agreements, cultural programmes, memoranda of understanding,
receiving foreign delegations,
visits of ministers,
exchange of experts in the domain of museums, restoration, monument protection, libraries,
exchange of scientific publications and information material,
co-operation in the domain of exhibitions
