| | National Agency for the Intangible Heritage
The National Agency for the Intangible Cultural Heritage was established within the
Austrian Commission for UNESCO on 1st January 2006.
Its focal activities derive from three areas:
- interface for national and international cooperation and coordination, with particular emphasis on
supporting the Austrian ratification process;
- platform for an interdisciplinary dialogue and networking body for cultural policy, science, business
and active day-to-day culture;
- awareness-raising and PR activities.
The National Agency is financed from funds provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts
and Culture, the Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, and the Ministry for Health,
Family and Youth. The National Agency is accommodated at the offices of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO,
